J'aimais bien Diam's.

Much like the gross tête de melon who you spoke of previously, all of this has to do with commerce and popularity. Anything for a buck or personal gain. Nothing shocking here in terms of how your typical human will react.
Your proposition could be true in the US with the likes of Britney Spears, Madonna or another girl whose name I can't remember.
Alas, here it sometimes can also happen but not in this case.
This girl had her moment of fame for 3, 4 years in the beginning of the 2000s but for the last 2 years, for what I know, she has lost a big chunk of her usual audience.
The real issue is the rampant islamisation of European countries such as France, the UK, Belgium, the Neetherland, Danemark etc.
Donning the veil, niqab, hidjab by women, not only those from arab descent but also from traditional French families is perturbing, to say the least.
The future doesn't bode well indeed, with politicians completely bewildered by what's happening.
Another problem is the complete silence by arab organisations, even the less interested in religious issues.
Incomprehensible why a woman who was accustomed to freedom would voluntarily adopt this life style. Creepy.
