Comme d'habitude quand on revient d'une aussi longue absence (*) il faut quelque temps pour régler les petits problèmes qui se sont accumulés.

How can I get rid of that dumb picture of the dog and the cat at the bottom of the page that appears every time I connect? It's been bugging me for a long time.

It is strange that this image appears every time you connect since it is "hidden" at the bottom of the blog.
Anyway I agree that it's been in place a tad too long now.
